Margaret Atwood — 'In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt.'
For those of us designing a new bed, here is a you tube video from a gardener who claims she is not a designer but she designs her own garden and sometimes for her friends.
She lives in the same zone as we do and deals with many of the same issues. As it is winter, she is in the planning stage, so perhaps this video will help those of us who are thinking about a new bed this year. from her blog: Do you love gardening? Me too! I'm Erin and I garden in Southeastern Wisconsin, zone 5. The Impatient Gardener is all about real-life gardening: the good parts, the bad bits and even the funny stuff. It's part information, part inspiration and a little bit commiseration |

PHOTOGRAPHY as presented by Louis Riel
As requested by several members who attended his presentation, Louis Riel has given us 16 composition techniques and there are several sample photos below to demonstrate. Composition refers to the way the elements of a scene are arranged within the image. Good composition is a key element i photography. The aim is to achieve an interesting and attractive image. There are no hard and fast rules when it comes to composition, but there are several guidelines that can help improve our photos. These can be used individually or in combination with each other. |
